It's MARCH! We hope that everyone had an amazing, fun-filled February, replete with painting, tie-dying, comics-drawing, and other marvelous things.
Now that you're done with your project, it's time to bind/frame/collate/alphabetize/arrange your beautiful artwork as you see fit, sign the disclaimer (see link below), and submit your work for our Fun-a-day art show!
THE SHOW
The show is on March 13th, 2010 from 5-9 p.m. at the Nightlight in Chapel Hill. It's a free, all-ages show! You can bring people young and old, big and small, to see your Fun-a-day masterpieces.
THE DEADLINE
Remember: the submission deadline for the show is March 10th, which means you should drop off your work or make alternate submission plan with us by that date. We will show ALL the work we receive as long as it pertains to the theme of the show, it is appropriate for an all ages event and it is received by the deadline. If you would like to perform part of your project at the show, please let us know by Wednesday, March 10th by emailing funadaync at gmail.com.
THE DISCLAIMER
All projects must be submitted with a signed disclaimer, which will be available at the drop-off site. You can also use the Printable Version. We'll be hanging visual artwork on walls, gallery-style, and we'll have tables for larger or three-dimensional pieces. We can't hang your art without a disclaimer!
The disclaimer also gives us your contact info so that we can return your arts to you after the show!
HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR WORK
· Drop submissions in the Fun-a-day drop box on the porch at 103 Lindsay Street in Carrboro between March 2 and March 10. (It's the cardboard box with the slot that says "FUN A DAY" on it. We'll check the box daily. The porch is covered so your package will be protected from the elements.)
· Mail it to: 1101 W. Main St. Apt C. Carrboro, NC 27510 . We must receive your project by Wednesday, March 10th at noon for inclusion in the show. And don't forget to send it with a DISCLAIMER!
· Make an alternate plan with us. Email funadayNC at gmail.com to make that plan.

February, as you may know, is a traditionally un-fun month. This year, we're striving to Up the Fun by at least 28 points through the second annual Fun-a-day North Carolina. "Wait," you ask, "what's fun-a-day?" Well, it was started by some awesome folks in Philadelphia (www.artclash.com). It involves making one of something every day for a month. At the end of the month, folks submit their creations and we have a big ol' art show and performance in March. "Wait," you say, "I'm not really an artist." Don't worry! You can look at the Artclash website for ideas. (A knot a day? A paper snowflake a day?) This is not about being an artist; it is about making art. It is about sharing what we make with each other.
